From supporting employee selection to tailoring development and coaching, assessments are powerful tools in your leadership toolkit. Our clients have received so much value from our assessments that they have requested time and time again to become certified to use them themselves. That’s why Flying By Instruments was born.

After numerous requests, Flying By Instruments is now structured as a powerful hybrid seminar. Participants start with a 6-part, fully online e-learning course. This lets learners complete the materials at their own pace, building deep knowledge of the assessments. Then, once complete, participants attend an in-person application day to hone their knowledge and practice hands-on with our experts.

At the end of Flying By Instruments, participants take a certification exam that, upon successful completion, certifies them to interpret the Bartell Assessment Instruments for others.

Step 2: Complete the online FBI course materials

With 6 modules and 10 hours of professional video content, you can learn at their own pace, ask our experts questions, and rewatch content as needed.

Coursework can be completed in a dedicated week, but we recommend allowing 1-2 months to complete it alongside daily work.



Step 3: Select your date and attend your live on-site session

After you complete the coursework, you finish your training with a hands-on session. Select your desired date and spend a day at our site to get live feedback, practice in person, and become fully comfortable with the assessments.

Bartell DISCription Temperament Inventory (DISC)

The DISC measures temperament, the foundation on which personality forms. This is perhaps the most important element of who you are, because it is thought to be inborn. It’s how a person is “hard-wired.”

Interpersonal Measurement and Group Effectiveness (IMAGE)

The IMAGE measures core personality traits critical to one’s role, including intellectual agility, risk, curiosity, creativity, character mode, work approach, and much more.

AMP / Stress Source Profile (SSP)

AMP and the SSP measure a person’s response to 20+ different organizationally induced stressors. The patterns in the stress scores reveal precisely where to intervene to focus on healthy stress for positive results.

Personality Vector Analysis (PVA)

The PVA Assessment provides a detailed description of 16 core aspects of personality. It is an essential tool for understanding how someone may behave, and it provides highly valuable insights that can be used for development, improving communication, and strengthening relationships.

Leadership Alignment Index (LAI)

The LAI instrument measures dominant leadership styles and effectiveness, examining whether the leader uses the appropriate approach in various leadership situations.

Conflict Management Style Profile

The Conflict Management Profile measures a person’s preferred approach to dealing with conflict and their tendency to adopt other alternatives when their dominant style(s) don’t deliver the results they desire.
